We’re firmly settled into our Barbiecore era and celebrating the rush of pink with the launch of a limited edition Dynamic Duo. Plus, you’ll save £5 when you add this polish power couple to your basket! As well as being obsessed with highly pigmented gel polishes, we’re also suckers for a match made in nail heaven. It seemed then only appropriate to create not one, but two Barbie-esque gel nail polishes. We tasked our in-house experts with creating and finding the perfect pairing in Barbiecore pigments. The result? Meet Doll & Ken, the ultimate power couple!
This gel polish power couple will generate a spark and bring this trend to life for nail techs and their clients. If you're as eager as us to go all-out #Barbiecore with your sets, this glittering twist on the classic Houndstooth pattern will surely get your creative juices flowing. The '#Barbiecore Check', created by Giorgia Cappella — Training and Education Manager at The GelBottle Inc — is a surefire way to delight your clients looking for a grown-up #Barbiecore set of tips. Combining Doll's white and silver flashing pink glitter with the eye-catching blue of Ken, this vibrant look will set pulses racing all summer long.
Get The Look
Start with the 2-In-1 Base Coat and cure before applying two coats of the glistening pink Doll as your chosen base colour. Once cured, use a Liner Brush to paint Ken in squares of equal sizes with equal spacing to create a checked effect.
Once you have perfected your vivid blue squares, paint Ken in straight diagonal lines from the top left and bottom right corner of the squares. At the bottom right corner of the square, paint an 'M' shape, making sure the centre is in line with the square diagonal.
Fill in the shape, ensuring the colour is completely even and the negative space remaining of Doll creates the same shape as you have made with Ken. Finish with a top coat of your choosing and use the flash on your camera to see Doll truly sparkle and shine.
