The GelBottle Takes Centre Stage

In the midst of award season, we’ve been keeping our eyes peeled for the best, red-carpet-ready nail looks and the talented techs who created them.

KIM TRUONG FOR JENNIFER ANISTON

Spotted at the Golden Globes, LA-based nail tech, Kim Truong (@kimkimnails) achieved this sleek and chic look for Jennifer Aniston using Velvet Red; the perfect deep red mani to match the elegance of her Dolce & Gabbana dress.

For the Critics Choice awards, @kimkimnails kept it cool and classic, achieving this look for Jennifer Aniston using Cinnamon Spice.

JULIE KANDALEC FOR EMILY BLUNT

New York-based nail tech, @julieknailsNYC chose Rose Gold to achieve this super sparkly look for Emily Blunt for the Golden Globes, where she was nominated for her role in Oppenheimer.

"Emily was wearing shades of cream and white, with lots of sparkle, so we wanted to create something really fun to match the glamour! I chose to use just one coat of the colour Rose Gold. The result was beautifully subtle but with flashes of silver from different angels — perfect for the red carpet!" – Julie Kandalec

JULIE KANDALEC FOR JESICA CHASTAIN

For the Emmy’s, @julieknailsNYC wanted to give nominee Jessica Chastain the royal treatment, so used Peacci’s Jane’s Jewels - a gorgeous semi-sheer soft pink with flecks of gold for a touch of luxury.

Top tip:

“When working with chunky glitters, it’s important I’m able to get the flecks placed exactly where I want them. To achieve this, firstly brush on one coat of colour, then while it’s still wet, put more polish on the brush, but wipe the brush in the neck of the bottle. You’ll see exactly where the flecks are to pick up and place on the nail for maximum shine without adding more layers.

I love that this shade also has a gel sister by @the_gelbottle_inc of the same name!” – Julie Kandalec

ERI ISHIZU FOR LAVERNE COX

We loved the look that @eriishizu created for Laverne Cox at this year’s Emmy’s. She shared a summary of how she achieved it.

“After starting with a Rubber Base, I then went on with two coats of Honey, as a base colour. I chose to work with Passionfruit to create the ombre effect, before applying a non-wipe top coat and curing. I then applied Pearl Chrome Pigment using the applicator tool and rubbing it onto the nail before applying one coat of Clear Base and curing. To complete the look, I tapped Silver Metallic Leaf on to the tips of the nails, applied a shiny Top Coat and cured.” - Eri Ishizu

IMARNI FOR PALOMA FAITH

TGB Brand Ambassador, @ImarniNails, recently achieved this look for Paloma Faith, using our newly launched Amore.

“I used AMORE on Paloma to achieve this almost magical effect that changes in the light. She said people keep commenting on them, saying how beautiful the colour is.” - Imarni

MELANIE LYNSKEY

Japanese nail artist, Shigeko Taylor embraced the elegance of minimalism with these clean, simple nails, which perfectly complemented her red dress, by Christian Siriano.

To get this look Shigeko used just one coat of Cashmere, which is a soft, sheer nude shade, finished with our Extreme Shine Top Coat.

JESSICA WILLIAMS

We loved this playful spotted design, worn on Jessica Williams for the Emmy’s and created by @eriishizu. Eri shared with us a breakdown on how she achieved the look:

“First, apply a Rubber Base coat and cure it under your lamp. Then, apply one coat of BIAB 19 and cure again. Using a thin brush, draw imbalanced sizes of dots. Once you're happy with your design, apply a thin coat of clear base, add some crystal stones, and cure. Finish it all off with a non-wipe top coat, and you're done!"
