Your New Pricing Calculator — Effectively Price Your Services

Introducing Your New Pricing Calculator

Pricing your services can be challenging, especially when you’re aligning your outgoings and incomings. We’ve created a complimentary Pricing Calculator to help you establish pricing that works for you and your business.

How The Pricing Calculator Can Help You

The new Pricing Calculator is a tool to support you in pricing your services. It’s a spreadsheet which you can work through and update anytime your personal or business outgoings evolve — or if your working commitments change. It gives you an understanding of your tax, National Insurance and profit margins — and helps you decide on the right pricing for your services.

We’ve made it as easy as possible by inputting all TGB products into the calculator. If you use any other systems, you can add these yourself, too. This calculator reflects our pricing as of 1 October 2024, to ensure it supports you both now and in future.

Gel Product Pricing (as of 1st October 2024)

The Pricing Calculator reflects our new pricing which comes into effect on 1 October 2024. Not all products will experience a price increase, so we have created a summary table to share our new pricing as of 1 October 2024 which is available to download, for your ease. How To Use The Pricing Calculator

Work through the Pricing Calculator one tab at a time. You’ll need to input all the requested information, to ensure the recommended prices at the end of the calculator are as accurate as possible. To ensure the calculator is as easy-to-use as possible for you, we have created a step-by-step guide below and a video demonstration below.

Step-by-step guide

1. ACCESS — Log in to your TGB or TGB Academy account and it will be available on your dashboard. If you don't have an account simply register and it'll automatically be available on your dashboard too.

2. DISCLAIMERS — Explore the terms of use on the disclaimers tab. There’s also a handy Glossary of Key Terms to avoid any confusion.

3. SERVICE COST CALCULATOR — Here’s where you’ll input the products you use. If you use TGB products exclusively, everything is input for you (excluding single purchase items such as the TGB Light the Way Lamp and any tools or brushes). Add any additional items you may use to the list and you’ll see the TOTAL update at the bottom of the page. Remember to include VAT when you input any new products and their prices.

4. PERSONAL OUTGOINGS — This tab is where you’ll enter your outgoings. We’ve put some prompts for you, but add any additional outgoings not listed. Remember to allow for personal funds, too.

5. BUSINESS OUTGOINGS — In addition to your products, you’ll likely have business outgoings. Make sure to put all outgoings into the correct section (differentiating between what is tax deductible and what isn’t. If you are unsure, consult an accountant). You’ll clearly see your total outgoings at the bottom of this table, alongside your total income requirement to offset these costs and boost your profit.

6. SCALING YOUR BUSINESS — This tab is optional, a place to input an amount you’d like to earn above your business and personal outgoings. Leave this section blank when you first complete the calculator, then try it again and add a desired amount into this tab to see how to boost your earning

7. TAX CALCULATOR — Select where in the UK you’re based to get the most accurate result, then explore the calculations below. Use the section at the bottom (complete with a drop-down menu) to work out how much you need to budget to cover your tax.

8. PRICING YOUR APPOINTMENTS — Complete your desired working hours, making sure to consider annual leave allowance and sick pay if you are self employed. Enter the length of service and the service cost will appear. PRICE LIST — Here’s your Price List, complete with recommended prices aligned with your outgoings. These have been rounded up to the nearest pound. If you adjust the ‘SCALING YOUR BUSINESS’ figures, you’ll see these numbers increase.

FAQs

IS THE PRICING CALCULATOR FREE?

Yes. The Pricing Calculator is completely free for you to download and use.

WHY DO I HAVE TO INPUT MY PERSONAL OUTGOINGS?

When you input your personal outgoings, these are taken into account for the recommended price per service. It will consider your personal and business outgoings and therefore be far more accurate when it comes to correct pricing for your lifestyle.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T INPUT MY PERSONAL OUTGOINGS?

If you only enter your business outgoings (and not your personal outgoings), the calculator will recommend a lower price per service (as it's only taking some of your outgoings into account). This could impact your earning potential.

WHAT IF NAIL SERVICES IS NOT MY ONLY SOURCE OF INCOME?

If nail services is not your only source of income, seek advice from an accountant on how this will impact your tax. Within the Pricing Calculator, taxable information cannot be edited.
